- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Cream softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg and vanilla extract until smoothly combined.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.

- Press thumbs into the center of each cooled cookie to create an indentation.
