  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil Base for vinaigrette, avocado oil is a great alternative.
  • 2 tablespoons Orange Juice Fresh is preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice No direct substitutes recommended.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or Maple Syrup Agave syrup can be used as a substitute.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • salad tongs
  • serving bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by washing and thoroughly drying the mixed salad greens. In a separate bowl, slice the strawberries and thinly slice the cucumber and red onion, ensuring they are vibrant and crisp. Segment the orange carefully, removing all the pith.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, fresh orange juice, lemon juice, and honey or maple syrup. Whisk vigorously for about 30 seconds until the dressing is well emulsified.
  3. Grab a large serving bowl and layer the prepared salad greens at the bottom. Arrange the strawberries, orange segments, cucumber slices, and red onion over the greens. If using feta, crumble it on top along with toasted walnuts or pecans.
  4. Right before serving, drizzle the homemade vinaigrette generously over the assembled salad.
  5. Gently toss the salad with tongs or spoons to combine all the ingredients without bruising the greens. Serve immediately in a shallow bowl.
