Method
 

Baking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, beat together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  3. Sift flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder into the wet mixture, then fold in chocolate chips.
  4. In another bowl, cream together butter with sugars, then add egg and yolk, mixing well.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt in a separate bowl, then mix into butter mixture.
  6. Combine equal portions of brownie and cookie dough, rolling them together to form a cookie.
  7. Place formed dough on baking sheets and bake for 8-9 minutes until edges are set.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
