Equipment

  • Skillet
  • 9×13-inch baking dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 3-5 minutes. Once cooked, drain the tortellini and set them aside.
  2. While the tortellini is cooking, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat for about 6-8 minutes, then season it as desired and drain excess grease.
  4. Add the pasta sauce and cubed cream cheese to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Stir until the cream cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Gently fold the cooked tortellini into the meat sauce mixture, then transfer it to the greased baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese evenly over the mixture.
  7. Bake uncovered for approximately 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden on top. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes if desired.
  8. Let the casserole sit for about 5 minutes before serving with garlic bread or a side salad.
