Step-by-Step Instructions for Cookie Monster Cookies
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream 1 cup of softened butter with 1 cup of brown sugar and ½ cup of granulated sugar for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Then, mix in 1 large egg, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and blue gel coloring until uniform.
  2. In a separate bowl, sift together 2 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of sea salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed, mixing just until combined.
  3. Gently fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips and 10 crushed Oreos into the dough using a spatula.
  4. Take about 2 tablespoons of dough, flatten it, place a whole Oreo in the center, and wrap the dough around it.
  5. Chill the dough balls in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and then bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden at the edges.
