Preparation Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add half of the flour mixture, then the milk, then the rest of the flour mixture.
- In another bowl, combine chopped apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, top with half the apple mixture, then add remaining batter and apple mixture.
- Sprinkle brown sugar topping over the top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then glaze and cool completely on a wire rack.
