  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded; can swap with another melting cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Italian Seasoning or fresh herbs
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika optional
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water can use chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Milk optional; can replace with non-dairy milk
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley for garnishing

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until translucent and fragrant.
  4. Spread beef mixture across the bottom of the baking dish. Layer sliced potatoes evenly over the beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheeses on top of the potatoes, then pour beef broth around the edges. Drizzle milk on top if desired.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
  7. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes to set. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
