Preparation and Cooking
- Begin by draining and pressing the extra-firm tofu for at least 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Tear the tofu into uneven chunks to increase surface area.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and maple syrup.
- Whisk the ingredients together until well-blended.
- Add the torn tofu chunks to the marinade and gently toss until well-coated. Marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- For baking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- For air frying, arrange the tofu in a single layer and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
- For skillet cooking, heat 1-2 tbsp of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated tofu for approximately 7 minutes, flipping occasionally.
- Once cooked, transfer your crispy Cajun tofu bites to a serving dish.
- Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
