Step‑By‑Step Instructions
  1. Start by wrapping your extra-firm tofu in a clean kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top. Allow it to press for 30 to 60 minutes.
  2. Once the tofu is pressed, carefully cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu cubes, ensuring every piece is nicely coated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and optional red pepper flakes.
  5. Heat a few tablespoons of neutral cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated tofu cubes and fry for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side.
  6. Remove the crispy tofu from the skillet and drain any excess oil on paper towels. Pour the honey garlic sauce over it and toss gently.
  7. Transfer the Crispy Honey Garlic Tofu to a serving dish and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
