Optional Enhancements

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add frozen meatballs to the slow cooker, evenly distributing them for optimal cooking.
  2. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs and sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning on top. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Cover and set the slow cooker to LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  4. About 10 minutes before serving, preheat your oven to broil. Butter the insides of the rolls and place them face-up on a baking sheet. Toast under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Assemble by filling each hoagie roll with 4–5 meatballs and a spoonful of marinara sauce. Top generously with shredded mozzarella.
  6. Return the assembled subs to the broiler for 2-3 minutes, watching closely until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.
