Step-by-Step Instructions for Salmon Rice Balls
- In a medium bowl, combine warmed short-medium grain white rice with salmon flakes, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly with a spatula until evenly coated.
- Put on a plastic glove and apply a light coat of cooking oil to prevent sticking. Gather your workspace with a cutting board and a bowl of water.
- Take about 2 tablespoons of the rice mixture and gently squeeze it in your gloved hand to form a compact ball.
- Repeat until all the mixture is formed into balls, yielding about 12-15 salmon rice balls.
- Sprinkle additional toasted black sesame seeds on top of each ball for garnish.
- Transfer the rice balls to a serving platter. Enjoy warm or at room temperature with soy sauce or pickled vegetables.
