Preparation
- Begin by draining the silken tofu and gently pressing it between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Carefully slice the tofu into ½ to 1-inch thick pieces, ensuring they remain intact.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, vegetarian oyster sauce, sugar, and optional chili oil. Whisk until well-blended.
- Prepare your steamer setup by placing a footed heatproof plate in a pot of boiling water. Arrange the tofu on the plate in a single layer and steam for 8-10 minutes.
- Carefully lift the plate out of the steamer, pour sauce over the tofu, and garnish with chopped spring onions and coriander.
