Method
 

Cake Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans with butter or spray and dust with flour.

  3. Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition.
  5. Combine milk, orange juice, and orange zest in a separate bowl before adding to the batter.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with remaining milk until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes; check doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Cool the cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then invert onto wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth for frosting.
  10. Once cakes are cooled, frost between layers and around the cake for a beautiful finish.
