Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a measuring cup, combine 1/4 cup of water with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, beat 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, beating on high speed until soft peaks form, around 3-4 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  3. In a trifle dish, layer one-third of cubed angel food cake at the bottom, brushing it with lemon syrup. Spread one-third of the whipped cream filling over, followed by half of the sliced strawberries. Repeat layering until the top is reached, finishing with cream.
  4. Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve chilled and enjoy the layers of fresh berries and creamy goodness!
