Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a measuring cup, combine 1/4 cup of water with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Set aside.
- In a stand mixer bowl, beat 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, beating on high speed until soft peaks form, around 3-4 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
- In a trifle dish, layer one-third of cubed angel food cake at the bottom, brushing it with lemon syrup. Spread one-third of the whipped cream filling over, followed by half of the sliced strawberries. Repeat layering until the top is reached, finishing with cream.
- Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve chilled and enjoy the layers of fresh berries and creamy goodness!
