Ingredients

For the Tofu
  • 1 block Silken Tofu Choose soft or silken for best results.
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Opt for gluten-free if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar or Honey Use maple syrup for a vegan alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic Minced.
  • 1 teaspoon Gochugaru Korean chili flakes, optional.
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onion Chopped.
  • Chili Pepper Optional.

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • serving plate

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by gently removing the silken tofu from its packaging, being careful not to break it. Place the tofu on a paper towel and use another towel to soak up any excess liquid, which takes about a minute.
  2. Once the tofu is prepped, take a serving plate and carefully invert it over the tofu block. With a steady hand, flip both plate and tofu together, letting the tofu settle gently onto the plate.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar or honey, and sesame oil. Add the minced garlic and gochugaru. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Drizzle the sauce evenly over the silken tofu. Heat gently in the microwave for about 30 seconds if desired. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
  5. Serve immediately as a light appetizer or side dish.
