Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine 1 packet of active dry yeast, a sprinkle of sugar, and ¾ cup of warm water. Stir gently and let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Add the yeast mixture, ¼ cup of yogurt, and 2 tablespoons of oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough in the bowl for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. After rising, punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each into balls and flatten slightly before rolling out into ovals.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each naan for about 1 minute per side until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Mix 3 tablespoons of melted butter with 2-3 cloves of minced garlic. Brush this mixture over the warm naan, sprinkle with salt, and garnish with chopped herbs.
