Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and sauté for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until they turn soft and golden brown.
- Once the onions are caramelized, push them to the side of the skillet and add one pound of ground beef. Cook for about 7-10 minutes, stirring until the meat is browned and fully cooked.
- Stir in a splash of gluten-free soy sauce and mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes. Add salt, pepper, or any additional spices to taste.
- Toast your buns lightly in a separate pan or toaster until golden. Spoon the beef and onion mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun.
- Top each bun with a slice of cheese. Cover the skillet with a lid for about 2-3 minutes over low heat to melt the cheese.
- Carefully lift the top half of the bun and place it on your cheesy, beef-filled bottom. Serve hot.

Notes
Consider adding diced bell peppers or sautéed mushrooms to the beef mixture for extra flavor. Leftover filling can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
