Preparation Steps
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef and cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently, until browned and crumbly. Stir in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce.
- Once the beef is browned, add 1 cup of shredded carrots and 1 cup of chopped bell peppers to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 2–3 minutes until vegetables are slightly tender but still crunchy.
- Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Dip one rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10-15 seconds or until it becomes soft. Place it on a clean flat surface.
- On the center of the softened rice paper, place 2-3 fresh basil leaves, followed by about 2 tablespoons of the beef and vegetable mixture. Fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling and roll it tightly from the bottom upwards.
- Arrange your freshly made Thai Basil Beef Rolls on a platter. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
