For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound Fresh or Frozen Shrimp Peeled and deveined
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Smoked for added flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Enhances overall savoriness

For the Avocado Spread
  • 1 ripe Avocado Mash well for smooth texture
  • 1/2 tablespoon Lime Juice Fresh is best; substitute with lemon if needed

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice a baguette or ciabatta into ½-inch thick pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add shrimp seasoned with smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until shrimp is pink and opaque.
  3. While the shrimp cooks, mash the ripe avocado in a bowl and mix in lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Spread the avocado mixture on each crispy crostini and top with sautéed garlic shrimp.
  5. Serve immediately, garnished with lime wedges or fresh herbs if desired.
