Ingredients
  

Strawberry Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup ripe strawberries Choicest, brings sweetness and vibrant flavor
  • 1 cup granular sugar Adjust according to taste
  • 1 cup water Essential for creating the syrup
Tea
  • 3-4 bags tea bags Use black tea or substitute with green tea
  • 3 cups fresh filtered water Needed for brewing

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Adds zest

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse 1 cup of ripe strawberries, pat dry, remove tops, and dice into small pieces.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine diced strawberries, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat until boiling, then simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. After simmering, cool slightly and strain through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours until chilled.
  4. Boil 3 cups of water, pour over 3-4 tea bags in a heatproof jug, and let steep for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Stir in 1 cup of sugar into cooled tea until dissolved. Pour into a pitcher, adding 8-10 cups of cold water, chilled strawberry syrup, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
  6. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
  7. Serve in glasses filled with ice, garnished with lemon and strawberry slices.

Notes
