Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Press the Tofu: Wrap the extra-firm tofu in a kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Make the Sauce: Whisk together the low sodium soy sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, grated onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Prepare the Tofu: Unwrap the tofu and tear it into bite-sized pieces, mixing crumbled and larger chunks.
  4. Cook Tofu: Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the tofu pieces in a single layer for 5-7 minutes until golden-brown.
  5. Add Sauce: Pour the sauce over the tofu and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Serve: Transfer Tofu Bulgogi to a serving dish and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.
