- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 ½ cups of flour, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and ¼ cup of light brown sugar until combined. Add ½ cup of melted salted butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; mix until sandy crumb texture forms.
- Press about two-thirds of the crumb mixture into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until edges are golden.
- Chop 2 cups of fresh strawberries and set aside.
- Layer the chopped strawberries over the warm crust, sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top, and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Let cool in the pan on a wire rack. Prepare the glaze by whisking together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of cream, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Drizzle over cooled bars.
