Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, chop the hearts of romaine into bite-sized pieces and add salami, provolone, mozzarella balls, cucumber, red pepper, and pepper rings.
  2. Sprinkle with kosher salt and dried basil then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  3. Whisk together the dressing ingredients: red wine vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, brown sugar, and kosher salt.
  4. Just before serving, toss the salad with dressing or serve on the side. For the tortellini version, gently fold in cooked tortellini.
