  • 1 box Yellow Cake Mix or substitute with white or lemon cake mix
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter melted
  • 1 large Egg room temperature
For the Filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese full-fat, softened
  • 2 large Eggs room temperature
  • cups Powdered Sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract or almond extract for variation

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg in a mixing bowl to form a thick dough. Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then add the 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly before gradually adding 3¾ cups of sifted powdered sugar.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust and bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown, keeping the center slightly gooey.
  5. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan, then refrigerate for a couple of hours before cutting into squares.
