Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add a splash of oil, then sauté ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, beef broth (or water), and Italian seasoning. Mix well and bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Add elbow macaroni into the bubbling sauce, stir gently, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. Stir occasionally, check pasta’s tenderness, and ensure sauce thickens nicely.
  5. If adding cheese, stir in shredded mozzarella or cheddar until melted.
