Step-by-Step Instructions for Strawberry Peach Soda
- Start by washing and slicing 2 ripe peaches and 1 cup of strawberries into small pieces.
- In a medium-sized pot, combine the sliced peaches, strawberries, 1 cup of water, 1/4 cup of cane sugar, and 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a low boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
- After simmering, remove the pot from heat and let the syrup cool down for a few minutes. Using a fine mesh strainer, carefully strain the syrup into a heat-proof container.
- Allow the strained syrup to cool completely at room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Once the syrup is chilled, pour in about 2 ounces of the chilled syrup over the ice, then add 6 ounces of sparkling water.
- Garnish each glass with additional fresh strawberry slices and peach wedges.
