Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add in the egg and mix well until fully combined, about 1-2 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate this into the wet ingredients.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth, add a touch of sugar and blend until well combined.
- Scoop cookie dough onto baking sheets, spacing each dough ball about 2 inches apart.
- Make an indentation in the center of each dough ball and spoon in the cream cheese filling.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Centers should remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool completely on baking sheets for about 10-15 minutes.
- Drizzle salted caramel sauce over each cookie once cooled.
