  • 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup Or agave nectar.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Press excess water from the tofu for about 15 minutes. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl to make a slurry.
  3. Whisk together soy sauce, water, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and maple syrup in a mixing bowl.
  4. Heat coconut oil in a skillet and fry tofu until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the tofu in the skillet and let simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce for another 1-2 minutes.
  7. Serve over rice or quinoa, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
