  • 2 tbsp Southwest Seasoning Blend or homemade with chili powder, cumin, and paprika
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro finely chopped; parsley can be substituted
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed or garlic powder as a substitute
  • 1 large Egg or flaxseed meal mixed with water for vegan option
  • 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs whole wheat or panko
For Toppings
  • 1 medium Avocado or substitute with sour cream
  • 4 slices Pepper Jack Cheese Monterey Jack as a milder alternative
  • 1 cup Lettuce romaine or iceberg
  • 1 medium Tomato sliced; consider grilled or roasted for variation
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Chipotle Mayo or Greek yogurt with chipotle powder
  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice lemon juice can be used as a substitute

Preparation Steps
  1. Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Finely chop the onion and cilantro, and crush the garlic.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, onion, cilantro, garlic, bread crumbs, egg, and the seasoning blend.
  3. Ensure your hands are clean before mixing; this should be moist but firm enough to hold its shape.
Cooking Steps
  1. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into a patty about ¾ inch thick.
  2. Preheat your grill to a medium-high temperature, around 375°F to 400°F.
  3. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. In the last minute of grilling, add a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty and toast the burger buns.
  5. Spread chipotle mayo on the bottom half of each toasted bun, then layer with the turkey patty, avocado, lettuce, and tomato.
  6. Top with the bun half and serve with sides.
