  • 2 tbsp Canola or Vegetable Oil For frying

  • 2 tbsp Red Curry Paste Enhances complexity
  • 1 tbsp Coconut or Brown Sugar Balances spiciness

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Press Tofu: Remove tofu from packaging, wrap in a kitchen towel, press gently to eliminate moisture for about 15 minutes, then cut into cubes.
  2. Fry Tofu: Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat, add tofu cubes, fry each side for approximately 3 minutes until golden brown, then transfer to a paper towel.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, heat coconut oil, sauté shallots for 4-5 minutes until soft, add ginger and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Prepare Sauce: Add coconut milk, sambal oelek, red curry paste, sugar, and salt to the skillet, stir well, and let simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine Tofu and Sauce: Turn off heat, gently add fried tofu, stir to coat, adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Transfer to a platter, garnish with scallions, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds, serve hot.
